Aldwych Sinfonia

Aldwych Sinfonia was founded by Olivia Jarvis in 2012 whilst she was studying her undergraduate music degree at Kings College London. Her main belief was that the orchestra was an alternative performance platform on which her friends and colleagues could showcase their talents as soloists and chamber musicians. This idea of chamber music is essential to the group's dynamic as they perform without a conductor. Since their debut in 2012, the Aldwych Sinfonia has grown both musically and physically into a young professional ensemble inviting players from all institutes.

The Sinfonia are proud to exhibit their soloists as members of the orchestra itself rather than brought in from elsewhere. Every single member of this orchestra are as strong as each other; every performer's individuality and personality is considered as it has to contribute to the orchestra's dynamic in a significant way. Everyone is equal in their input and commitment. This equality is encouraged by the members suggestions to repertoire; if someone wants to play it, it will be programmed in. The orchestra's vitality allows it to perform all eras of classical music making it one of the most exciting and thrilling young ensembles in the performing sphere.
